Immigration tough talk has begun

Posted on | November 13, 2009 | No Comments

You know its nearing election time when the political parties start spouting off on immigration.

Gordon Brown fired the starting gun by claiming that his government will introduce tougher restrictions soon.

These restrictions, of course, will only apply to people from those parts of the world that mostly speak the same language as us, have the same political and legal system as us, have long historical ties with us, and sacrificed their lives, blood, sweat and tears in defending, and building this great nation of ours.

Yep,once again, the whip is gonna get cracking on those good folks from outside the EU.

No doubt, we can very soon expect even more right wing proclamations from Cameron in an attempt to show ‘I can do tough on immigration talk too’- that’s if he ever gets round to actually setting out his party line on immigration.

Why does it get like this every time an election is in the air?
